NYC Cocktail Week 2011…a bar crawl in Twitpics @kloutperks @liquor

The good folks at Klout and Liquor.com invited me to check out a few spots as part of the first annual NYC Cocktail Week.

The homie Lea and I hit up 1534 and Respite as part of a promo and had tons of fun. Insider tip: Justin the bartender at 1534 is a whiz and definitely get the BBQ dumplings and Stormy Hemingway at Respite. Delish. Twitpics of our adventures below including some quadruple fisting (no I did not drink all of those)

More dets on NYC Cocktail Week:From June 15 to 29, Liquor.com has arranged for some of the Big Apple’s finest establishments, including Clover Club, Death & Company, Employees Only and Pegu Club, to offer a very special menu. You’ll get to select two expertly made cocktails and an appetizer for just $20.11. (And yes, these are full-sized drinks.) But you don’t need special reservations, passwords, codes or even vouchers—just ask for the NYC Cocktail Week menu at any of the bars listed below. (Offer is subject to availability.)

Chris Brown’s cousins try to fight Frank Ocean/”take the fade”

1. How did Chris Brown’s cousins find Frank Ocean?
2. How did World Star Hip-Hop get this video?
3. Can I start using the Cali slang “take the fade”?

Trae Tha Truth rocks SOBs in first NYC show + I hold a chain as big as my head @TRAEABN

The goons and the journos joined forces last night at Trae Tha Truth’s first NYC show featuring Styles P, Fred Da Godson, French Montana, Maino and Jadakiss. I trekked to SOBs and saw the usual homies: Shaheem, Chuck Creekmur, Bonsu, Executive Nick, Aqua, Jas, Low Key, Esso, Meka, etc. I had never seen Trae before but he’s got great energy and I’m sorta obsessed with his velvety Southern-drenched voice (it makes me sound like a screeching cat in comparison). Peep video from the show below as well as an awesome pic of yours truly with Fred Da Godson. How many trips to Whole Foods could that chain sponsor? Hmmm…

Special thanks to Nancy Byron. Trae Tha Truth’s Street King drops 6/28. Make sure to support that H-Town hip-hop.
