Lupe Fiasco shares ‘Food & Liquor 2′ sounds x sights in NYC
I trekked to SoHo last night to see rapper Lupe Fiasco talk about his new album, Food & Liquor 2 (in stores today) for a group of industry types and journos. High on lyrics, low on hooks, it’s a very dense album that begs a separate, sit-down listen. Amid a white wall of sociopolitical and historical imagery, Lu urged fans not to compare it with his debut Food & Liquor. Personally, it was a little heavy for my tastes and without balance, unlike my favorite Lupe album The Cool. Listen for yourself.
