Sowmya Krishnamurthy (@SowmyaK) is a music journalist and pop culture expert. 

She has appeared on TV as a host on MTV's Hip Hop POV and contributes commentary for E!, CNN and Fuse, Revolt TV and The Huffington Post.  She has interviewed artists and celebrities from T.I. and Rick Ross to David Guetta and Ariana Grande as a contributor to Rolling Stone, Billboard, Village Voice, XXL, Ask Men, Complex, Time Out NY, MTV News, Vibe, Time and Vice.

With nearly a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Sowmya is originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. She started her career in the oh-so-glamorous mailroom of William Morris Endeavor's agent training program as "NYTrainee12" and went on to become the Director of Outreach Strategy for ICED Media, a full-service digital agency with clients including Universal Music Group, CNN, QVC and Kmart Fashion. Previously, she interned at Diddy's Bad Boy Records, CNN and American Express. Most recently, she was on-set as Social Media Correspondent for Oxygen's Sisterhood of Hip Hop (executive produced by T.I.).
