Young Jeezy talks Fela, the Nigerian-born musician and composer and inspiration behind the popular show Fela!. I love how he talks about being “taken to a different place” away from 808s and hi-hats. What a cultured young man. Do I sense dinner and Broadway date with Young Jizzle? Hmmm. Shout outs to GoodFellaRadio for the linkie.
“I could teach you how to speak my language/ Rosetta Stone”… “I’m way too young to be feeling this old“. Drake’s highly-anticipated single “Over” is here. An introspective look at success, haters, and the industry. I like it! Thank the New Music Cartel for having the audio in record time and Twitter for sending it around the world in minutes.
Just a taste of Drizzy’s new single “Over” (produced by Boi-1da) from the upcoming Thank Me Later. The whole song drops at midnight tonight! *jumps up and down*

Must be a day of covers. NC rapper on-the-come-up and hottie J. Cole graces The Source magazine’s April issue. This will be his second cover in the same month. Talk about putting in that pr work!
Sidenote: is he wearing leather Mittenberry gloves?!

Last night the Blueprint 3 tour hit NYC with Jay-Z, Young, Jeezy, and Trey Songz. Greatest lineup ever or just my rapper fantasies come to life? Either way, Lil Wayne and Drizzy Drake hopped on stage for a surprise performance, making the night one to remember in NYC. Not surprisingly, controversy is already swirling around Drake’s set. Apparently the sexy muppet didn’t get the memo that Jay-Z wanted all artists to wear only black (so he could dub the show “blackstage” ) Call it his Canadian style, an homage to the Olympics, or maybe just his rebellious nature but the white on white tracksuit definitely made the Drizz stand out in a good way; I’ll never forget that white flash of deliciousness.
Shout outs to Jenn Yin who experienced the life-changing show with me. Michigan League stand up!
Update: Drake ended up rocking all black at the show’s afterparty at the 40/40 Club.
