Video: Lebron James is Drake’s new hypeman
Lebron James joined Drake onstage in Cleveland and served as a B+ hypeman. Bron Bron could use some practice. Check it out!

The Drizz graces the new cover of Billboard. Snag your issue on May 29th. Shout outs to the homie Karla for the pic. Yummers.
Diggy Simmons spits over “Jigga What, Jigga Who”. How cute is he? Nice Ting Tings reference Diggster.

More fun Juno Awards footage from last night. Never did I think we’d hear a rapper shout out Newfoundland..but I LOVES it! All I can say is boy, those Canadian folks are sure nice. Everyone just seemed like they were there to have a good time. Must be the Uncle Joey effect (see Full House).
Shout outs to All Things Fresh and Drake Daily for the goodies.
I’ve never been a huge fan of internet radio stations. With the addition of annoying ads and wading through random filler tracks in order to get to the good stuff, I’ve pretty much retired my Pandora account and stick to iTunes (or YouTube). I just got put onto a new site that blends the idea of Pandora streaming but lets you program the station Grooveshark.com. The site builds its master database of songs based on user uploads, similar to Napster (throwback reference!), but lets me program whatever blend I want and the best part? NO ADS! The only drawback is that because it’s a user-generated content site, not every song in the world is available until someone uploads it. So that obscure Jay-Z mixtape from 1991 probably isn’t on there.
Either way, it’s a novel concept that has my attention. Where else can you listen to a DJ So-So exclusive that starts with Black Rob’s “Jasmine” and ends with Jeezy’s “Trap Star”?
Drake’s highly highly highly anticipated music video for “Over” finally dropped today and the Drizz doesn’t disappoint. He departs from the usual in-the-club motif and with helmer Anthony Mandler gives us a visually stunning look into his introspection. The struggle between good and evil, the juxtaposition between light and dark, or just 4:03 minutes of Drake in his bedroom. I like it!
So many yummy mag covers. Add this to the list. The Driz and Nicki Minaj grace the May issue of XXL magazine. Camouflage in effect. Attention, about face!
Update: after careful inspection, Drake looks like a young Barack Obama in this photo.
Another fine rapper shuts S.O.Bs down. Last night me and about a million fans, bloggers, Jay-Z, Nipsey Hussle, Pill, and industry heads crowded into Hot 97′s Who’s Next showcase to witness Jermaine Cole rock out with nothing more than a mixtape to his resume. It was a pretty packed dude fest but luckily J is pretty tall so I could see him even from where I was being smushed. Supposedly (I refuse to believe it) it was more crowded than when the Drizz shut the place down last year. Fun times. Too many folks to mention but special xoxo to Erika R. and Kozza.
Oh yeahhhh. Setting my iCal right now for this one. Drizzy Drake’s highly-anticipated album is dropping May 25th.
Per Rap Up.com Drake’s debut Thank Me Later will arrive on May 25. The Canadian singer-rapper has been in the studio with a who’s who list of collaborators including Jay-Z (“Light Up”), Kanye West, The-Dream (“Shut It Down”), Sean Garrett, and Boi-1da, who produced the first single “Over.”
The project, originally scheduled for an early spring release, has taken a little longer than expected as Drizzy strives for perfection. “This is my first album and it takes a lot for me to commit to a song and be like, ‘I like this enough that I’m gonna put it on the album,’” he told Rap-Up.com. “It’s gotta be something that I feel is timeless and is better than anything that I’ve ever done.”
Drake will travel across the country performing material from the album on his first headlining trek, “The Away From Home Tour,” kicking off April 9 at Penn State University, and wrapping in Houston on May 20, a few days before the record’s release. BTW this tour comes NOWHERE near NYC except for Bamboozle Festival in NJ yet goes to Eastern Michigan University. FML x 100,000 trillion.
My favorite industrysexual song “Over” is currently No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.
