Stuff I need now! Holiday gift guide + birthday wish list 2014

It's beginning to look a lot like… It's almost Christmas and not to mention, only a few more days until my birthday! I love Christmas. I still remember freaking out when I got my first cassette boombox ages ago (It kind of looked like this.) It was the 90s and CDs were still new. When I wasn't playing my Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston cassettes until they would literally break, I would LOVE to tape episodes of the weekly American Top 40 Countdown with Casey Kasem on the radio.  In fact, that's how I got put onto a lot of pop, country and r&b music. So many memories...

Although I'm no longer a youngin', I still get excited for what Santa (er, Amazon) is gonna leave in my stocking. Here are a few things on my holiday and birthday wish list. For those who want to send me goodies, I wear a 7.5 in shoes. December 28 is almost here!

Sowmya's holiday and birthday wish list

#glam:

Marc Jacobs Beauty: Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Nirvana $18 (Love, love, love the dark, army green and the shine is seriously ridiculous)

Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in Tibetan Orange $33 (Orange lip color had been known to make me look a bit Krusty the Clown-ish so I was floored when I found this shade. Plus, it's a lip stain which means not reapplying every five seconds)

Maison Martin Margiela Replica fragrance in Beach Walk $125 (Every season, I like to pick a new scene to add to my repertoire and I'm literally obsessed with this perfume. The Replica line drums up nostalgia of familiar scents and places. This, by far is my favorite of the series. I mean, who doesn't love to smell like a dreamy day at the beach? I just went to Sephora to pick up a sample because I can't stop thinking about this one. At $125 it's a bit rich for my tastes but I will say, its staying power is crazy

#geek:

Warby Parker Roosevelt glasses in striped chestnut $95 (At heart, I'm just a nerdy girl. I've been rocking contact lenses since the 8th grade and usually wear glasses only when I've run out of lenses. After hearing so many good things about Warby Parker, I'd love to try out one of their unisex frames. The Roosevelt has an interesting design and the chestnut color is so warm and gorgeous and would look FAB-U-LOUS with my new hair color. What? Yup. More on that in another post)

#journolife:

Adonit Jot Pro Fine Point Stylus for iPad $27 (I finally joined the rest of the world and bought my first iPad Air, more on that in another post. Right now, my iPad is feeling a bit naked and I want to give it/him/her some accessories)
