I went to my first New York Mets game (and the longest Shake Shack line ever!)

I'm not athletic in any way. I don't watch sports. I don't play sports. I'll pretty much give my left arm to a shark to get out of anything that involves sports. Still, I've been hearing about how great the Mets' Citi Field is, especially the grub. By luck, the homie Kasia (Nike) snagged some ah-mazing tickets to the game so I had to go. Sara (NBA) and I shlepped up to Queens (Thank god we drove because that 7 train was so not happening on a weekend) and despite knowing nothing about baseball or the Mets (I've always been more of a Yankees fan because of fellow Kalamazoo native Derek Jeter), the game was super fun. The Mets won against the Marlins and it was fireworks night at the stadium.

Now as for the food: Citi Field has more options than the usual hot dogs and pretzels of most ball parks. There's steak sandwiches at Pat LaFrieda's, tacos at El Verano and Shake Shack. Ah Shake Shack. How I love thee. When I saw my favorite cheeseburger in the world--the Shack Burger--I couldn't resist. But what I could have (and should have) resisted was the loooooong line. Hands down, Citi Field has the LONGEST SHAKE SHACK LINE EVER, and this is coming from a girl who's been to no fewer than three Shake Shacks. Even the Shake Shack in ABU DHABI had a shorter line than this one! I ended up missing about three innings of the game and killing my feet for a Shack Burger. Would I do it again? Probably. But then again, I like cheeseburgers more than sports.
