“Boyfriend for Hire” with no strings attached
One of my favorite sites for steals and deals in NYC is Life Booker. They always have the best bargains on facials, blow outs, and mani/pedis. I admit I tend to ignore the massive amount of emails they send me as a member, but recently an email with subject “Boyfriend For Hire” caught my eye.
Boyfriend For Hire is an actual company that offers handyman services (pause x 2) for single ladies (and presumably guys too). The site boasts that these for-hire boyfriends or BFFH offer a “wide number of repair, install, reorganization, and other home or apartment tasks that you just can’t get to yourself ” The rate is $100 hourly but Lifebooker had a nifty discount for $75 which I unfortunately missed.
As a single girl in NYC I can’t start to tell you the number of light bulbs I’ve needed changed or spaghetti sauce bottles I’ve needed opened. Countless nights I’ve gone thirsty because the Pom juice bottles were just too hard to open. What single girl hasn’t contemplated dating a guy just to move a piece of furniture? Never again. This is definitely a site I’m keeping bookmarked for 2010.
