I made a Drake mix with the HP Split x2

HP asked me to make my own DJ mix. It seems like everyone and their mama is a DJ nowadays, so I thought: How hard can this be? I downloaded Mixxx, a free mixing software on my HP Split x2 and played around with it using Drake’s “Trophies” and “We Made It.”

As you can see from the video below, I made some cool effects. Software like this definitely makes DJing easier than way back in the day. No crates to lug around since you can cue up songs from your iTunes or computer and most importantly, it syncs everything up for you. Matching up the speed of one song with another is really as easy as pressing a button.

I’m sure with a little Mixxx practice I could be the next DJ Paris Hilton or maybe even DJ Drake.

Disclosure: This is a “sponsored post.” HP provided me a Split x2. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with FTC guidelines.

Good music: Drake “Trophies” (Produced by Hit-Boy)

Drake drops the long-awaited “Trophies.” My homie Hit-Boy KILLED this beat. Omg.

Good music: Drake teases new song

DJ Drake plays some new Drake. Vertical integration in hip-hop is alive and well, kiddies. The rapper previewed this new track while in Houston and lucky for us, someone caught it on Instagram.

Video: Sampha makes you cry with “Too Much”

This might be even more emo without Drake…
