Want a sneak peek into J. Cole’s new album ‘Cole World’?

Well then mosey on down to my review on The Village Voice today. I was invited to an intimate listening yesterday at Roc The Mic (aka Hov’s studio) in NYC for a preview of Cole World: The Sideline Story (in stores 9/27) with a small group of journosexuals. Overall, TheSowmyaLife gives the album a solid A-. Check out my full review HERE

Why hello there, Jermaine

J. Cole + DJ D-Nice + Pete Rock (yes, PETE ROCK) rock out for #RedStarAccess (8/10)

Last night Jermaine Cole hit the Bowery Ballroom stage in NYC as part of Heineken Red Star Access’ concert series. J. Cole rocked out to old favs like “Young Simba” and “Lights Please” while debuting some new music (peep video below) from his upcoming album slated for 9/28. J’s stage show has gotten tremendously better since I’ve last seen him and now includes hops and plenty of movement.

Before J, the crowd of journos, bloggersexuals and beer-guzzlers enjoyed DOPE DOPE DOPE DJ sets by D-Nice and the legendary Pete Rock. Let me reiterate for you foolios: PETE ROCK. Amazeballs.

Wale feat. Jermaine Cole “Bad Girls Club”

Wale and J. Cole collab on a pretty good song. Ever since Wale joined the Maybach Music Group, I’ve definitely been way more into his music. Listen below:

J Cole “Return of Simba”

J Cole drops a late nite song for the blogs, “Return of Simba”. Not as good as the original “Grown Simba” IMO but take a listen yourself:
