Video: ‘Threat Level Midnight’ (starring Michael Scarn)

Last night’s The Office gave fans the full movie version of Threat Level Midnight, Michael Scott’s longstanding film debut. Mostly parodies of popular action, karate, and suspense flicks, there were some nice cameos by past characters like Karen (Rashida Jones) and Ryan’s hobbit-like friend from “Night Out”, not to mention a nice Toby scene complete with special effects.

All in all a pseudo-satisfying episode in what has been a dismal season. This ranks somewhere between clip show and “all singing” musical episode.

‘The Office’ ….worst episode ever

Last night’s “Viewing Party” episode of The Office was hands-down the worst episode ever. I know I throw that term around a lot (thanks Comic Book Guy) but this time it’s without hyperbole. The Glee-based jokes had their moments but the overall premise of Michael being jealous of Gabe doesn’t hold much weight. Jim and Pam have lost their playful luster and are just downright whiny. I get it. Being a 30something yuppie and finding a babysitter is really hard. The second and third acts were almost unbearable as fans were forced to watch an all-too-long scene in which Jim feeds pizza to Dwight by hand (and then proceeds to “beer” him). I’m not sure if this was a spec script or if the writers were too busy this week looking for new jobs since the show will undoubtedly end at this rate.

Don’t think it was so bad? Try re-watching the train wreck below.

“I’m Date Sowmya, nice to meet me”

A quirky quote from last week’s The Office that I plan on living by this week. When Michael Scott goes into “date mode” he throws on a backwards Kangol hat and says, “Hi I’m Date Mike, nice to meet me. How do you like your eggs in the morning?” *cue wink* Egotistical, self-indulgent, and a little douchey…I love it!
